Sorry for the delay in making a post here.
I've been busy the past few days setting up and/or marketing my new ventures. One is a local search engine listing service. I did it because it's not as complicated as SEO (Search Engine Optimization) and I think many businesses in my area could use the service.
I had been thinking about starting a cash flow business based locally but definitely went for it after reading Loral Langemeier first book "Act, Think and Make Money the Way the Wealthy Do" (she was in the secret which I first saw in December 2006). I don't know how it took me so long to actually hear about her? So I recently found out about her. I think she's totally awesome and I'll write a post about her after I finish reading her latest book "Cash Machine".
I should have done a little more research but I have a domain name NowOnTheNet.com that I plan to dedicate to marketing online anyway as I plan to get one of those GoDaddy.com affiliate web sites and slowly build it out with SEO'd articles and all. So local search marketing fits into it all.
I just did a one page site with 2 links. The first to paypal to pay me for doing the service (which I call "Premium Service")... and the second to an affiliate company (which I call "Do-It-Yourself" service) so I have 2 ways to make some money. I'm thinking I should eliminate the affiliate link and put an email sign up form up instead to capture email addresses before I tell them where they can go to Do-It-Them self??? What do you think? As you can tell I am still tweaking the web page but I just wanted to keep it really simple and to the point.
I hear it's a good idea to put my phone number, address, email, etc. I'm not sure I'm comfortable with putting all that information so openly since I work from home, and don't want unwanted visitors, telemarketing calls or emails either so I guess I will have to get a mailing address, phone number and email address just for these sort of things.
Anyway I submitted the page http://local.NowOnTheNet.com to quite a few local search engines and should begin to see results in a month or so. I also put a 7 day test ad on FaceBook to see what I need to tweak. I will put an ad on Google adwords too as soon as I research and locate 10 or so good keywords... (which I find hard to do so far (no good cheap keywords (I'm using WebCEO))) .
Anyway it's fun s far.
