A Simple Yet Effective Way to Save

All my life I tried on different occasions to save... and really failed at it so much so I gave up and said it wasn't in my genes and I couldn't do it.

For some people it comes so easy... while for others it borders on compulsive as they are so obsessive with it. "But there must be some easy way for a decent balance" I thought... "maybe one day I'll find it".

Well lo and behold I went to T. Harv Eker's (author of the best selling book "Inside the Millionaire Mind") "Millionaire Mind Intensive" 3 day event last November 2007 in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and it changed my financial life in so many ways. The simplest of all ways is that I finally learned how to save. He has a very simple formula...

Use jars.

So I went to my local 99 cent store and bought 6 plastic jars and labeled them as follows:
1. FFA 10% = Financial Freedom Account (to be used only for business and retirement).

2. LTSS 5% = Long Term Saving for Spending (on big ticket items (I'm using mine for a 42" flat screen TV for this coming Christmas)).

3. NEC 75% = Necessities like Rent/Mortgage, Groceries, Gas, Clothes and other ongoing living expenses.

4. EDU 5% = Education (one should always be learning, I use this for buying books on Amazon).

5. GIVE 0% = Charity (instead of giving 10% to charity I give items and my time to goodwill). I use this jar to put all my fortune cookie notes, quotes, and positive notes to myself.

6. FUN 5% = T. Harv Eker says if you don't make room to enjoy yourself you will sabotage your saving efforts and I find that to be so true... I use mine once each month for movies, a night out dancing at a cool club, playing pool, a Miami Heat Basketball game, massages, a nice lobster dinner, etc... There is so much to do here in South Beach, Florida as it's a really cool resort town with fantastic beaches.

You can change the percentages around to suit your particular situation as needed.

Well here's the MAIN thing, you must put money in at least one of the jars every single day, even if it as little as a penny. This is to get you thinking about good finances... saving, etc on a daily basis as most of use focus on bills too much we need a counter balance.

Also every pay day we need to split the money up in each jar (or if you prefer have separate bank accounts for each and put a piece of paper with the amount you placed in the bank account in each corresponding jar so that you can keep track). That's it.

So if you get paid weekly... you need to do this weekly.

Wow it really worked so far for me... sometimes I forget but I'm really on top of my savings now for the very first time in my life.

Another great tip T. Harv Eker gave was to write down every penny I spend each month... I have this down to a science so much so that I created a form just for that with the 6 labels above and everything... My financial life is so much better now I can focus on things like this blog and buying a home.

Another tip I got from T. Harv Eker is to rejoice and be happy every time you find a penny in the streets and pretend you found a million dollars. I do this every time I go out site. Lots of people don't bother with pennies. I'm not one of them I rejoice each and every time I find one.

Project Wonderful is Indeed Wonderful

Wow! I can't believe how cheap and simple it is to use ProjectWonderful.

I've been using AdWords since late December 2007 and spent a total of about $20.00 for about 40 hits (that's 50 cents a click) and I recently bought 23 ads on ProjectWonderful for just over 4 days now and paid $1.38 so far for 100 hits (that's a whole lot less than 2 cents a click). There's no comparison!

It's a 7 day test campaign that I'm doing for a total cost of $2.25 so I may get as much as 150 hits (maybe more) by the time it ends -- which would be great. When I started AdWords I thought I could get 50 or so clicks each day for about $3.00, that would be close to 5 cents a click... but ProjectWonderful is sooo much better.

I have not focused on monetizing this Blog yet I really planned on using AdWords to get feedback on the look and content of my site first to see if it was worth doing and I almost gave up if I didn't find LinkReferral where in turn I found EntreCard where in turn I found ProjectWonderful (among a host of other great resources and information).

Well is it quality traffic?... Well it really depends on what ones' looking for. Now that I know people have shown some interest in what I have to say I now know what to tweak. Which for me is great.

So I have a budget of $100 per month in mind to spend on advertising as soon as I monetize this Blog (in hopes of making $500 per month or more in return) and I think most of it will go to ProjectWonderful it seems (unless I find something better) as my aim is now 1 cent per click. That would be 10,000 unique hits each month, and if I can earn $5 to $10 from 1% (100) of that traffic I'd be very happy.

Do you have any tips for me as to how I could accomplish this or even how you did something similar?... I'd really appreciate a comment from you below. Thanks in advance.

My Plan to Double My Site Traffic Every 30 Days

Right now I'm doing the things necessary to make my site better and more profitable... e.g., SEO, Monetizing, etc.

Well this site has been up for a full 5 months before I did that... what took me so long???

Well because of the 5 areas I was a little confused as to how to go about getting them all to gel. I now realize that I didn't need to focus on that, what I should have been focusing on was getting traffic to the site... Well I believed I had to have pretty decent traffic before I went full force on publicizing my Blog and now with the feedback I'm getting from fellow LinkReferral.com members I've made (and am still making) some really great changes.

So I've been tweaking my site for 2 weeks now. It has a few cool things/features on it but I have a few more things to do. My blog loads a little slower now... So I realize I have to put quality features that either REALLY enhances the site or they have to help my readers (and make me some money).

I could have 4 or more distinct income streams for this blog:

1. Membership cost of $9.95 per year ($39.95 for the full 5 years).

2. Inline text where I get paid whenever visitors click on certain words.

3. Selling ad space on the side and bottom.

4. Become an affiliate to some great products and services on the theme of the 5 categories.

5. Build a responsive email list (where I give the very best yet concise info to once each month) I Think I'll call it my "Mini Monthly Millionaire Updates" (MMMU)

I also want to put a few cool links up relating to all 5 categories to further help my readers but I have to figure out the best way to do that. So it loads quickly, looks desirable, is informative, and is easy to use.

I came upon a few cool articles on how to monetize and organize my site. So I decided to do a full blown search to locate the most successful blogs for info on each topic (if you know on any of if you have one Please drop me a note) -- I'm learning... with the Internet I don't need to reinvent the wheel. Everywhere you go these days online you see people trying to make money what they think is the easy way... but I think it’s the hard and most distasteful way...

WOW! I could'nt believe it... I was just surfing http://www.linkreferral.com/adwel.pl?oldrefid=166467 forums and checking out links of links of links, when I stumbled upon it... I still can't believe it... it's like a gold mine or something. I tried it out... and in a few days I will have results and I'll post my results here for all to see.

I’m someone with little cash and lots that I desire to accomplish like a lot of people out there. So I need your help. What is Financial Freedom

Financial Freedom is the First Step to Wealth!

Financial Freedom to some degree can be defined as when your residual and/or passive income exceeds your living (and all other) expenses. Let's say your monthly expenses are $5,000 and you earn say $6,000 in profit from assets (Real Estate, Stocks, Bonds, Web Sites, Money you lend, etc.,) you are financially Free and can quit your job (if that's a dream or yours).

Well there are 3 types of income:
1. Earned income; Where you exchange your labor or hours (time) for money.
2. Residual Income; Where you do something once and it keeps earning money (like write a book, build a web site, or buy Real Estate).
3. Investment (Passive) Income; Where your money makes money for you (stocks, bonds, Paper/Notes).

Most people start off with 1 but never get to 2, or 3, ever. There is only so much time in the day and only so much hours and years you can work... one can hardly get wealthy that way.

Everyone Should AIM to do ALL Three...

AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.

(The Sooner the Better.)

2 and 3 is using OPM, OPT, OPR = Other Peoples Money, Time and Resources. Learn to do all 3.

Well they are 2 Ways to Become Financially Free Fast...
1. Reduce your Living Expenses; If you're single live in a studio or a one bedroom instead of a 2 or 3 bedroom. Start taking lunch to work. Use a workout DVD instead of going to the gym (get a friend to join you if you need motivation). Eat all breakfast at home (no more StarBucks) and go out for dinner less. Shop less for clothing. Buy things you use often in bulk (at costco, etc). While you make passive income (use some of the money you save to start a business)... start doing something other than your job.

2. Increase your Residual/Passive Income; Do more than one thing... Join 2 or 3 complementary Multi-Level Marketing Companies (and build an effective team). Buy Real Estate. Lend money (backed by Real Estate preferably (you earn way more interest than the bank pays)). Create a killer web site or sell on ebay. Find something you love to do and buy a cheap franchise on the topic (you can start in Jani-King for as little as $2,000) or start your own business but make sure to employ competent people to work for you.

The Quickest Way to Wealth

Well I'll just get Straight to it...
My Belief is that Real Estate is the Quickest Way to Wealth

How did I come by that?
It wasn't easy or really apparent until recently. I've always read books on investing in Real Estate and thought it was great but it didn't really compute that it was the fastest (and surest) way to wealth until recently.

How so?
Well you can buy 1 house for $100,000 and have it appreciate to $150,000 very quickly.
You could also buy $100,000 in Stocks and bonds and they could raise to $150,000 very quickly.

YES... but here's the difference...
With Real Estate the most you'd have to come up with is $20,000 as a bank will usually lend you the rest and your risk is little.
With Stocks and Bonds you have to come up with most of that money and even if you buy on margin, your risk is super high (especially if you buy on margin).

With Real Estate you can have tenants make your mortgage payments for you.
With Stocks and Bonds you're on your own.

With Real Estate you can refinance and take out equity and invest in more Real Estate.
With Stocks and Bonds you can't really.

With Real Estate you can improve it's value by rezoning, refurbishing or even expanding on it.
With Stocks and Bonds you can't really.

I could go on, and on but I rest my case as I'm sure you get the point.

Some More Great Things About Real Estate
It's been said that everyone should own at least 2 properties (with mortgages paid off) at retirement, one to live in and the other to rent out. That's really sound advice with Social Security the way it is these days. If the average person did that we'd have a much happier world.

Well I'd take that a step further and say whenever one takes out a substantial student loan (for law or medical especially) they should also purchase a multi-family home as well and live in one section and rent out the rest. In 4 - 12 years the equity in the property should be enough to help greatly when the student loan becomes due.

Another thing people need to understand about Real Estate is that if it puts money into your pocket it's an asset... if it causes you a negative cash flow each and every month it's a liability.

So if you own and live in a single family home with no income coming in from it... it's a liability. But if you own and live in a Multi-family property with (positive cash flow) rental income coming in from it... it's an asset.

A Mini Update

Hi again all,
